Readus Smith is chief executive officer of TPAC, where he guides enterprise performance, partnership strategy, and expansion across a value-based health care portfolio. Readus Smith's experience includes executive oversight of operating models, provider relationships, managed-care economics, and growth across complex regulatory environments.
Before joining TPAC, Mr. Smith held several executive positions at Wellvana, including market president of national partnerships. He led a nationwide business serving providers through value-based MRA, MLR, MER, and quality products, while managing a 50-person team through 12 direct reports. During his regional leadership work, he developed an eight-state market across the Southeast, recruited more than 100 providers, and grew membership beyond 12,000 within 18 months. He also helped negotiate and integrate three health system acquisitions.
Mr. Smith spent eight years at Island Doctors Corp. as senior executive vice president and chief development and strategy officer. There, he helped develop the Navigate Program, which reduced hospital readmissions by 41 percent during its first year. His earlier career experience includes senior operations leadership at Regional Medical Center and CEO and partner responsibilities at PromiseCare Pharmacy. Mr. Smith is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and holds a master’s degree in health law and policy from Nova Southeastern University.
